A Different Perspective
There once was a painter named Tim, painting his roof. He was so passionate about his job that nothing could ever distract him when on a project. He was always meticulous and made sure that every inch of the roof was perfectly coated with paint.
One day, as he just finished painting, he took a step back to observe his completed creation. He kept stepping back to admire his work … 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 steps back … out of the blue, his friend and co-worker, George, took a brush and painted a black line across the roof.
Upset and furious Tim rushed to his friend shouting “How Dare You!!!” “Can’t you see, I put in so much of effort & you have just about managed to ruin my work!!!?”
George loving explained “I am so sorry buddy, I know the work you’ve done is priceless and precious, but you were just about to take a step back and would have plunged to the ground. I drew the black mark across the roof so that you would inadvertently take those steps forward and come to fight with me, in doing so to save your life”.
