Upstream, Midstream, Downstream or Mainstream?
Culture is the unmasking of natures beauty in crafts and arts as symbolic expressions to everyday life in written or narrative mode that, if accepted, becomes what we call customs & beliefs. Anything that is repeated to the point where it becomes inhumane, or to something of a ritual, needs to be checked as, anything that is without heart & lacking meaning to the new generation could unknowingly lead to problems.
On Behavior & Habits:
The unconscious incompetent becomes conscious incompetent, the conscious incompetent becomes the conscious competent, conscious competent becomes the unconscious competent
If you don’t know why you are doing what you are doing you might unconsciously lead in the wrong direction.
A Katana is molded to perfection through a process of forging and construction. Two kinds of metal are used – iron and steel which gives it hardness and sharpness with a softer flexible core. The Alchemy of Leadership.
Each of the seven stages reflects the process of removing impurities, gives the Katana its flexibility, while maintaining it toughness by the hardening & quenching process of heat & water. Thus the Katana becomes resistant to breaking, sharp, and its curvatures allow for its flexibility in the sword. The two metals are skillfully crafted into a skin showing the difference of the two metals which reflects the smith’s skills through art form.
However even the master’s craft needs to be maintained and stored with care. The traditional oil used is choji oil (99% mineral oil and 1% clove oil for fragrance) or else it could rust.
And the master craftsman when teaching this skill constantly keeps a watch to check if their prodigy is ready to move on to the next level or to finally spread their wings and fly.
While it is good to look at the old it is also important to analyze the new compare and recreate or tweak as needed (ratio rates proportions)
